For the remainder of the year we will operate in maintenance mode.

There are two big changes.

  1. We only answer support on Tuesday.
  2. Every 'good' proposal gets white glove treatment.

Why are we doing this?

I want to create an environment where me and Denny can explore new products that bring us closer to accomplishing the mission of democratizing the research process so anyone can do science.

Keeping Experiment crowdfunding alive long term is important to me, which means spending as little as possible until Challenge Grants ramp up next year when the platform is expected to generate more revenue.

How will roles change?

Nicole

Nicole's role will change. Nicole will only focus on Challenge Grants. This role includes recruitment and coaching of researchers in Challenge Grants. This role also includes relationship management with current partners (AZA, ESA, BBPI) and prospective partners. This role can include FB social, if Nicole wants.

Nicole's hours will be capped at 35 hours a month. This number is calculated based on how much budget we have to pay Nicole.

Denny and Cindy

Denny and Cindy's time commitment will be changing. Denny and Cindy will only work on Experiment crowdfunding one day a week, on Tuesdays. Denny and Cindy will be responsible for general support, reviews, and payouts.

Cindy and Denny's hours will be capped at 48 hours a month each, which is equivalent to a 12 hour day every Tuesday.

This will last until January 8th, 2018 when we will re-evaluate our financial situation and the direction Cindy and Denny want to take the company.

What do the changes mean for our customers?

We only answer support on Tuesdays.

We need to change our messaging on the site.

Reviews are returned on Tuesday.
